Today's Program: Club Assembly (Outgoing President Ally Karter)

Ally took the opportunity of her last meeting as President to offer the following remarks to the members of the Club. At an earlier meeting, she shared a report on the Club's achievements during 2008-09.

Thank you to all of the Waterville Rotarians, particularly the Board of Directors and the chairs of all the committees. It has been my great honor to serve you in this role.

What I was unable to say aloud in my closing speech is my profound gratitude to my father, who passed away in November 2008. I mentioned in my opening that he is my hero, and that above all things I wanted to make him proud this year. He taught me the importance of community service and is the kindest, most generous person I will ever know. I know he was with me all year and I dedicate this year's success to him.

While the club needs good leaders, we shine because of you. There are many individuals, so many committed Rotarians, who give up time with their families, weekends, and contributed funds so that we could do the good work all year long. We are the strong club we are because of our membership and the tremendous dedication of individuals.

Thank you for your wholehearted participation and support of me personally throughout the year. What a wonderful ride it's been
