$250 First Prize Design Contest for High School and College Students

 

The Waterville Rotary Club is in need of a club banner to proudly exchange when visiting other Rotary clubs worldwide. This banner contest is to find just the right design to represent Waterville to the world. One first prize winner will be selected and that design will be produced as a small fabric banner.  Samples are viewable by clicking on the Rotary Banner Sample link in the "Downloads Section".

 

$250 First Prize

$100 for second place 

$50 for third place

 

This contest is open to any individual high school or college student in the Greater Waterville Area. The entry must be submitted on a white sheet of paper, or electronically in a PDF format.* The design should be contained within a 7" wide by 9" tall space. Include your name, address, school, phone number and email address with the entry.

 

All design entries are due at the Waterville Public Library by 4pm, Friday, April 24, 2009. You may deliver your entry, or email it to: ssugden@waterville.lib.me.us. If you are mailing your entry, send it flat, unfolded and postmarked by Wednesday, April 22, 2009 to: Sarah Sugden, Waterville Public Library, 73 Elm Street, Waterville, ME04901.

 

Winners will be notified on May 1.The judges' decisions are final. All entries become the property of the Waterville Rotary and may be altered, resized, reprinted, and otherwise reproduced as part of this contest. Entries will not be returned.

 

The banner must include the Rotary Wheel and Rotary Club Waterville Maine in the design. This flyer and a sample of the Rotary Wheel can be found on Waterville's Rotary Club Page: www.clubrunner.ca/waterville/. The wheel should be in one color or in the two traditional colors, blue and gold. The wheel should not be distorted, covered over or otherwise altered.

*If winner's designs electronically, he/she will be asked to supply vector art later for banner printing company. Vector based artwork is strongly preferred. The following vector formats are preferred: CorelDraw (.cdr files) - Version 13 or older, Illustrator (.ai files) - Version 10 or older, Encapsulated Postscript (.eps files) The following bitmap files are also acceptable, provided they are 300 DPI or higher, PhotoShop Files - (.psd files),.JPG or .TIF files
