Peter Garrett gave a happy dollar from David Geller who was happy just to be here today.

Scott Bullock is happy about National Trails Day because trail walking is a great time to stay healthy.

Today's Program: District Attorney Evert Fowle, on Embezzlement

Kennebec and Somerset County District Attorney Evert Fowle presented recent examples of embezzlement his office has prosecuted. He itemized ways in which business owners can protect themselves from this crime: do not give out a signature stamp; pay careful attention to any employee with financial or drug-related problems, either their own or a family member's; release from your employ anyone who has stolen from you, because the likelihood of a repeat offense is very high; and ALWAYS trust but verify.

After Evert's presentation, Sarah honored him with a certificate noting that 6 children will receive polio vaccinations in her name as a token of appreciation and with the thanks and best wishes of the Club.
