Sawyer Boulette
Unified Champion Programs at AYCC

Sawyer Boulette is the Director of Philanthropic Partnerships and Unified Programs at the Alfond Youth & Community Center in Waterville, Maine; the only combined Boys & Girls Club & YMCA in the US. In her role at the AYCC, she helps to strengthen community and donor relationships through stewardship and empathy.

She proudly sits on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Maine and attended the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2018 as an Honored Guest. While there, she had the privilege of participating as a partner in Unified Sports with Special Olympics athletes from across the Globe.  Her life changing experience led her to help create the first in the nation Unified Champion Club for adults with intellectual disabilities using the Special Olympics Unified Champion School’s integrated model of Unified Sports.

Sawyer is a graduate from the University of Maine at Farmington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health.  As a former collegiate athlete, Sawyer believes the power of sport is a catalyst for life lessons.  She feels strongly that those life lessons should be available to people of all abilities. She has experienced and observed how unified program opportunities demonstrate a feeling of acceptance and a more inclusive community; she has hopes to help replicate the Unified Champion Club model broadly across the state, nation and around the World.
