Central Maine Gleaners Group

Central Maine Gleaners Group is a volunteer-powered gleaning group working with Healthy Communities of the Capital Area (HCCA) to bring gleaned food to area food banks and soup kitchens in central Maine.  Healthy Waterville has developed an action team that recognizes food recovery as one of the primary areas of action: "Our primary goal is to increase awareness of how to reduce food waste at home, at our businesses and our institutions. We are also working on food recovery efforts such as gleaning local farms to benefit our free food resources."
